
Dr. Lutz-Christian Funke
Secretary General of the KfW Banking Group
Dr. Lutz-Christian Funke is Secretary General of the KfW Group and is responsible for federal and European affairs and strategic investments. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the KfW Foundation and Managing Director of the Gesellschaft zur Beteiligungsverwaltung (GZBV), which manages KfW's stake in Airbus.
In 1996, Dr. Lutz-Christian Funke joined the KfW banking group in Frankfurt, initially as a project manager in the Executive Board's staff, later as a senior project manager and Vice President in the Export and Project Finance division, and from 2003 as Head of the Executive Board's staff. After two years at IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG, he returned to KfW in 2009 and was subsequently appointed Secretary General.
The lawyer, who holds a doctorate from Goethe University Frankfurt, is also a member of the supervisory board of IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG, 50Hertz Transmission GmbH and Eurogrid GmbH.
