
Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook
Harvard political scientist, transatlantic expert and former director of the DGAP
Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook is one of the most distinguished experts on transatlantic relations, European foreign policy and geopolitical strategy.
She was Director and CEO of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) and co-founder and managing director of the "Future of Diplomacy Project" at the Harvard Kennedy School. There, she led research programs on Europe, transatlantic relations, and the impact of digitalization and urbanization on international diplomacy for many years.
Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook began her career as a journalist at CNN in the US and Europe. Later, she worked as a political analyst and consultant for international organizations and companies, including in Europe, China, and the US. She studied International Relations and European Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School, the London School of Economics, Sciences Po Strasbourg, and Brown University.
Cathryn Clüver Ashbrook currently advises political decision-makers, institutions and foundations on geopolitical risks, transatlantic cooperation and Europe's strategic positioning.
